Vancouver Island has seen an extreme amount of rain over the last few day including Courtney. Due to the rain the river is running a little bit higher than normal.
To get to Stotan Falls, take Piercy Rd. exit from inland Island Hwy., turn right at Plateau Rd., left at Duncan Bay main. To do the loop clockwise from Stotan head up the gravel road beside the penstock South of the river – the actual trail starts near the fish hatchery.
For counterclockwise travel, the trail starts at the concrete blocks North of the river
