Brand new Quality Foods open for business in View Royal

Share

The long awaited Quality Foods in View Royal officially opened its doors to the public today making it their 13 location on Vancouver Island.

The new store is located in the recently opened Eagle Creek Village across from Victoria General Hospital. They are the plaza’s anchor tenant with over 100,000 square feet in space.

Quality Foods is a Vancouver Island owned and operated grocery chain employing over 1,000 islanders. The first store opened in Qualicum Beach in 1982 and was originally named Qualicum Foods.

In 1986, the ownership formed a partnership with Parksville’s Bruce Robertson thus launching the first ‘Quality Foods’ store.  In a very fitting way, the store had longtime employee Frank show off the newest full service deli in View Royal. He also showed off the first full service deli during the opening of the original location in Parksville, 30 years ago this year.

Other stores currently opened in the new plaza include Tim Hortons, Subway, Coast Capital, and Western Financial. Cobbs Bakery is expected to open by the end of the month.

Other familiar tenants will include Starbucks, Dollar Tree, Bosley’s, Cascadia Liquor Store, Great Clips and Forbes Pharmacy.
