West Shore RCMP are investigating a theft that took place at 88 Mini Market on the West Shore, just before 1pm on Friday.

The store released two videos showing the suspect arriving in a light blue 1st gen Mazda RX7. The man then gets out of the car, enters the store and commits the theft.

The video footage shows the alleged suspect asking the store clerk for a carton of cigarettes. The clerk places the carton on the counter in front of the man. It then appears as if the suspect uses a distraction technique, and once the clerk’s back is turned,  the suspect grabs the carton of cigarettes and takes off. The videos show the man quickly running back to his car and driving away.

RCMP are asking if you recognize this man or the unique vehicle, to contact Cst. McKinney with the West Shore detachment and reference file #:2016-1400.

Video one shows the car arriving and the man exiting the car, then running back after the theft:
Video removed. Suspect has turned himself in.
