Woman robbed Thursday night near Shelbourne Street and Blair Ave

Saanich Police are looking for a suspect after a 25-year-old woman walking in the area of Shelbourne St and Blair Ave was approached by an unknown man on a bike and robbed.

The incident happened just before midnight on Thursday, April 14th.

The man asked for the victim’s cell phone. When she refused to give it to him, he dropped his bike and began to chase her.

The suspect caught up with the victim, pushed her to the ground, then stole her handbag.

After stealing the victim’s handbag the suspect ran back to his bike and fled.

Saanich Police were contacted and quickly attended the scene. Police were unable to locate the suspect during their search.

He is described as a white man, around 18-years-old, stands 5’9” tall, with a slim build, blondish hair and a rounder face.

The suspect was wearing blue jeans, a black jacket and had a black and white bandanna around his forehead.

“Our investigators are asking that if you saw the suspect in the area around the time of the robbery to call Saanich Police,” A/Sgt. Jereme Leslie said. “We’re hopeful someone may either know this suspect and come forward or be able to provide us with more information to help us further our investigation.”
