Nelly Furtado to headline musical fundraiser for Syrian refugees

Enjoy a memorable evening of music at Victoria’s historic Royal Theatre which will headline international music star Nelly Furtado who will perform with the Victoria Symphony.

Also performing with the Victoria Symphony will be Latin Grammy winner Alex Cuba.

Adding to the star factor and definitely the musical texture of the night will be the legendary Neil Osborne, front-man of Canadian super-group, 54 40 – he will start the night.

The event is to raise funds for the Victoria Immigrant and Refugee Centre’s Emergency Refugee Fund that is used to assist vulnerable refugee get critical help when it is most needed. There will be silent auctions and other ways to assist Victoria’s newest cultural community at the event.

Nelly Furtado is not only known for chart-topping music, but also for significant acts of benevolence supporting the development of young musicians, as well as assisting the plight of refugees.

The Victoria Symphony will be supporting Nelly Furtado’s performance with truly original orchestral renditions by American composer Sean O’Loughlin.

Alex Cuba, accompanied by the Victoria Symphony will follow as the evening’s second performer. Alex’s sugarcane-sweet melodies, pop-soul hooks and powerful guitar riffs, defy conventional stereotypes of Latin music.
