On Sunday evening, RCMP arrested three occupants of a car and seized numerous items, after receiving reports of a suspicious car parked on a side road in View Royal.

West Shore RCMP say they responded to a complaint of a vehicle with possible stolen license plates on Talcott Rd, just before 7:00 pm.

Police located a red Saturn with three occupants inside the car, and determined the plates on the vehicle were in fact stolen. The individuals were arrested while police searched the car.

Officers found marijuana, cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, a taser masked as a flashlight, a collapsible baton and a body armour vest.

According to police, a 30-year-old Esquimalt man is now facing numerous charges in relation to possession of stolen property; possession of drugs; possession of a prohibited weapon; and breach of probation. The man is set to appear in court today.

The other two occupants were released without charges.

Anyone with further information is urged to contact the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-222-TIPS.
