The Victoria Royals have two home games this weekend as they host Swift Current Broncos on Friday, October 21 and the US Division leading Everett Silvertips on Saturday, October 22.

On Tuesday night, the Royals topped the Saskatoon Blades 9-3 as the club tied and set five team and individual franchise records on a night led by Ryan Peckford’s six-point performance.

With the Royals beginning to heat up, here are two games you don’t want to miss this weekend:

Tonight is Country Night as the Royals take on the Broncos. Make sure to wear your country gear and if you don’t have anything, not to worry, the first 500 fans will receive a cowboy hat courtesy of Tim Hortons upon entry. Also, the first 2,500 fans will receive a Royals’ Country Night keychain upon entrance at Gate 1.

There will be intermission activities, including three fans demonstrating their best country holler.

Pre-Game: 6:00 p.m. Game time: 7:05 pm

Make sure to come out to Saturday’s game and help celebrate Marty the Marmot’s 11th birthday. Fans in attendance will have the opportunity to sign his birthday card before the game, and enjoy a slice of cake after the contest.

Marty will be joined for the event by his mascot friends including: Ace (Saanich PD), Slider (Panarama Recreation), Rocky Raccoon (Victoria Shamrocks), Striker (Victoria Highlanders) and Turbo (Harbour Air).

Pre-Game: 6:00 p.m. Game time: 7:05 pm
