Dîner en Blanc Celebrates 5 years in Victoria

Share

On Friday July 7, Le Dîner en Blanc celebrates its 5th anniversary in Victoria.

The pop-up picnic has become a much-anticipated event in Victoria since it first surprised the city at St. Ann’s Academy in 2013.

Since then, the event has been also been held at Fisherman’s Wharf, Ship’s Point and on the harbour front next to the Delta Hotel.

“Last year, we began the evening with 1,700 white-clad guests making a dramatic entrance as they walked over the blue bridge from Johnson Street to the Delta Ocean Pointe Resort,” said Aidan Henry, the owner and creative director of Brink Events. “It was our largest event to date and this year we’re planning for more people. So, we’ve added a lot of experiential décor and entertainers that will create our most surprising and beautiful evening yet.”

Groups of guests all dressed in white will gather at rallying points all across the city with a table, chairs and table setting, ready to be guided by volunteers to a secret location in downtown Victoria.

Every guest also brings their own picnic or can order one ahead of time from Chef Dan Hayes, The London Chef who is providing catered picnics, also for the fifth year, with a menu inspired by Paris that offers three options including Arc, Eiffel and Louvre.

Wine is the only drink on the menu and may also be ordered prior to the event.

Dîner en Blanc Victoria also always hosts a little-known, yet fantastic afterparty – Le Disco – also in a secret location. Guests may purchase a ticket during the event to attend the exclusive all-white dance party.

Tickets for Diner en Blanc 2017 are still available but they are selling quickly! Register now online.
