Online source confirms Deadpool 2 is filming on Vancouver Island (PHOTO)

It appears the filming of Deadpool 2 has made its way to Vancouver Island – Colwood to be specific.

A film crew has taken over the iconic Hatley Castle.

While local sources in the film industry would only confirm there was a production taking place at the castle, online film critic CBR.com says it has exclusively learned from an unnamed source that Deadpool 2 was filming scenes at Hatley Castle, with star Ryan Reynolds.

The yellow cab (possibly the same one from the first film) was also spotted on the set.

The sequel recently started production in Vancouver, with Ryan Reynolds returning as the merc-with-a-mouth mutant.

The castle was of course a stand-in for the X-Mansion in 2003’s X2: X-Men: United, 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand and 2016’s Deadpool, leading us to believe the Deadpool sequel is using the site for the same purpose.

CBR says it has also learned that the interior of the castle is being used, which means fans will get a better look at the X-Mansion in Deadpool 2 than they got in the first film (which only featured the doorway).

This Instagram photo was taken on Friday, which shows Deadpool – aka Ryan Reynolds – in front of Hatley Castle with film crews working around him:

Deadpool 2 is expected to arrive in theaters June 1, 2018.
