TMZ is reporting that Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington has committed suicide.
It’s reported that the 41-year-old singer hung himself in his private residence in L.A. County. His body was discovered just before 9am this morning.
The father of 6 children from 2 wives, Chester had struggled with drugs and alcohol for years. He has opened up in the past about considering suicide and that he had been abused as a child by an older male.
The band, of course, has had a number of hits over the years, including “In the End”, “Faint, “Numb”, and some genre-colliding collaborations with Jay-Z.
The band’s 2nd album, Meteora, is one of the biggest albums in alternative music history.
