Man arrested after road rage incident in Central Saanich caught on video

Police have arrested the cyclist involved in a road rage incident caught on camera in Central Saanich on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old Central Saanich man, who is known to police, was taken in to custody without incident and is co-operating with investigators, according to police.

The video, which circulated over Facebook, shows the man riding up to the car, kicking it, swearing at the driver and then reaching into the car itself.

The incident resulted in approximately $5000 worth of damage to a car.

An officer who watched the video recognized the man on the bike from past interactions with police.

Police will not release the identity of the man until charges are approved.

His next court appearance will be October 25, 2017.
