Previous episodes may have been lacking in action, but “Executing The Warrant” more than makes up for that with its SWAT team footage.

Officers in full riot gear enter the residence of a suspected fentanyl dealer, smashing the doors and windows open. The video also features an intense POV from a canine unit, as the dog finds and then pulls its target out of the house.

Episode 5: “Executing the Warrant”

“Having a door kicked in and being taken into custody by a VicPD K9 can ruin a fentanyl dealer’s day,” VicPD said in a release. “The Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT) is a key partner in our fight against this killer drug as they help our investigators execute search warrants and arrest fentanyl dealers.”

“While enforcement is a key part in the fight against fentanyl, we continue to work with Island Health, the BC Coroners Service and other social services through this health crisis and we continue to work with key stakeholders on a weekly, if not daily basis,” VicPD added. “This seven-episode series takes you behind the scenes into enforcement that is rarely seen – the work we do as we target those who victimize those who suffer addiction.”

Episode 6: “Universal Precautions”

It only takes 2 mg of fentanyl to cause a fatal overdose. As a powdery substance, fentanyl presents great risk not only to those who use it, but to police officers as they work to process evidence.

In Fighting Fentanyl Episode 6 | Universal Precautions, S/Sgt. Conor King and Cst. Matt Rutherford take you into the brand-new negative pressure room and drug processing areas as our officers done respirators, goggles, gloves and a full protection suit to process exhibits in order to protect them from fentanyl’s dangers.
