UVic Lampoon Presents: Comedy Vertigo

Monsters House – Fear on the Pier

  • What: It’s all anyone’s been talking about. A haunted house exploding with monsters and loaded with fright. Two-for-one admission is October 16th!
  • Where: Ogden Point, 203 Dallas Rd.
  • When: October 12th – October 31st.
    • Open 6:30pm-11pm Sun-Thurs.
    • Open 6pm-11:30pm Fri & Sat.

Peninsula Panthers vs. Kerry Park Islanders

  • What: The Panthers play their third home game of the season in their freshly renovated arena. Come out and support the boys!
  • Where: Panorama Recreation Rink B (1885 Forest Park Drive in North Saanich)
  • When: Friday, October 13 Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
  • Cost:   Adults $9 – Students/Seniors $6.00 – Child 6-11 $5.00 – 5 & under FREE

Johnny Rockets Grand Opening with Victoria Buzz

  • What: You’re invited to the grand opening celebration. Be one of the first 40 customers and receive a prize box. Find the winning box and you’ve got yourself $100 in Johnny Rockets gift cards. There will be prizes and samples, treats for the kids, a caricature artist to draw you picture, and s performance by local swing dancers. Victoria Buzz will be at the Bay Centre from noon to about 1 p.m. and then at Hillside Mall around 1:30pm.

TP the town!

  • What: TP the Town Victoria, a unique one-day toilet paper fundraiser, is returning to the Capital Region to provide awareness and relief to those in need.
  • Where: Participating Save-On & Country Grocer locations
  • When: Saturday, 9am – 3pm.
  • Cost: Free

The Art of the Cocktail

  • What: For a different kind of “spirits” this October, check out the city’s best from behind the bar. Along with the big players, the Grand Tasting will also highlight artisan, small, and regional distillers.
  • Where: Crystal Gardens, 713 Humboldt St.
  • When: Saturday, October 14th.
  • Cost: $65 for Grand Tasting Ticket

Teal Pumpkin Project

  • What: The Teal Pumpkin Project is all about including every single type of Halloween trick or treater. The project is aimed at raising awareness of food allergies during the trick-or-treating season, and to leave no taste buds behind! Putting out a teal pumpkin means you have non-food items for Halloween lovers of all type!
  • Where: Save-on-Foods (Fort and Foul Bay)

All Buffleheads Day Family Festival 

  • What: Family Bufflehead Festival at the Robert Bateman Centre. Activities will include Bird Bingo in the harbor, Spot the Bufflehead, Nature Sketch Club classes and a special Bufflehead cake!  All admission by donation!
  • Where: The Robert Bateman Centre (470 Belleville Street)
  • When: October 15th from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 
  • Cost: Admission is by donation all day

Harry Manx with the Yaletown string quartet

  • What: Multi instrumentalist Harry Manx joins The Yaletown Strings for a magic evening of Indian flavoured Blues.
  • Where: University Centre Farquhar Auditorium
  • When: Saturday, 8pm.
  • Cost: $40

Ghostly Walk Tours

  • What: On these Halloween tours, you’ll hear the stories of the ghost of Belle Adams who slit her boyfriend’s throat, a Jack-the Ripper-style murder, the ghost of the star-crossed Chinese lover, the ghost in the Broad Street bordello, a famous doppelgänger, the mysterious ghost in Trounce Alley, hauntings in Helmcken Alley and classic tales from Bastion Square. The tour starts and ends inside haunted buildings.
  • Where: Market Square, 560 Johnson St.
  • When: Friday through Sunday,6:30, 7:30, and 8:30.
  • Cost: $16 for adults, $8 for children (aged 6-11).

Wannabe: A Spice Girls tribute

  • What: Tell me what you want what you really really want yeah tell me what you want what you really really want. The title should say enough – so stop right now (thank you very much) and grab some tickets!
  • Where: Capital Ballroom – Sugar Nightclub
  • When: Saturday, 8pm – 11pm.
  • Cost: $15

Community Art Jam

  • What: Join us for a FREE community art jam. Supplies will be provided but you can eitherbring your own or use ours. Acrylics, watercolours, drawing materials, brushes and paper will be provided. Sometimes creative people need to create together! Use this studio time to play and talk and experience the therapeutic qualities of art.
  • Where: Poppet Creative, 1508 Haultain Ave
  • When: Saturday, 1 – 3pm.
  • Cost: Free; though donations are accepted and will benefit NEED 2: Suicide Prevention Education & Support

Just for Laughs Canadian Comedy Tour

  • What: The 2017 Just For Laughs Canadian Comedy Tour is thrilled to announce that Canadian superstar comedian, Sugar Sammy, will host the 17th edition of the annual comedy tour this fall. Fresh from hosting two critically acclaimed sold-out Galas at the 35th edition of the Montreal International Just For Laughs Comedy Festival this July, the JFL Tour will see Sugar Sammy, along with the cynically good-natured Alonzo Bodden and the hilarious Gina Brillon,

Panorama Recreation Rink B Grand Opening

  • What: Arena B grand re-opening is taking place this Sunday! There will be FREE skating, skate sharpening, face-painting, road hockey, inflatable fun and more!
  • Where: Panorama Recreation Rink B (1885 Forest Park Drive in North Saanich)
  • When: Sunday, October 15 from 11:00am-3:00pm
  • Cost: Free
