A 16-year-old teen has been arrested in connection with a robbery in Esquimalt earlier this week that led to a lockdown at Esquimalt High School.

The school was placed on a lockdown at around noon Monday, after a female student was robbed at knife point on Colville Road in Esquimalt. The robbery was originally reported to have occurred at the high school.

Police officers searched the school and confirmed that the suspect was not on the school grounds.

The lockdown was lifted and the suspect managed to elude police. Investigators were able to identify and locate the suspect three days later.
