From the Festival of Trees to a Craft & Knitters Christmas sale, there’s something stupendous to kick off your weekend.

Festival of Trees

  • What: Bring out the kids for some early Christmas light appreciation! The Festival of Trees showcases dozens of superbly decorated trees, and encourages you to place your vote for your favourite by donating to the B.C. Children’s hospital
  • Where: The Bay Centre
  • When: November 16th – January 2nd, during regular Bay Centre business hours.
  • Cost: By donation!

Creative Craft & Knitters Christmas Sale

  • What: Find unique, handmade items for your family & friends during this annual event, taking place in the Esquimalt Rec Centre’s atrium. All items have been made by their Seniors drop-in knit & craft groups. Sales support all Seniors programs!
  • Where: Esquimalt Parks and Recreation, 527 Fraser St.
  • Time: 9:00am – 3:00pm.
  • Cost: Free!

Torquay Movie Night

  • What: Come to this fun family event! Kids are encouraged to wear cozy, comfy clothes, bring their stuffies/blankets, and cushions or pillows. Parents may want to bring their own camping chairs. Doors open at 6 and a concession fundraiser with popcorn and other movie treats will be available for purchase. The movie is Hotel Transylvania 2 and will begin at 6:30.
  • Where: Torquary Elementary School, 4413 Torquay Drive.
  • Time: 6:00 doors, 6:30 film starts.

Vikes Improv: Winter Formal

  • What: You’re cordially invited to Vikes Improv’s winter formal show, a night of comedy and fancy dress. They’ll prompose to each other, and improvise in gowns and suits – all you have to do is laugh.
  • Where: David Lam Auditorium
  • Time: 7:00 – 9:00pm.
  • Cost: Entry is by donation!

UVic Vikes vs. Vancouver Island U Mariners

  • What: Check out the University of Victoria hockey team as they take on Vancouver Island University! A fast-paced, hard hitting affair can be expected – these two teams are not terribly fond of each other.
  • Where: Ian Stewart Complex, 3964 Gordon head Rd.
  • Time: 7:00pm – 9:30pm.
  • Cost: Admission by donation.
