As a result of View Royal’s latest byelection, Saanich Police officer, Damian Kowalewich, has been elected the city’s newest councillor.
He will be replacing Heidi Rast, after attaining 518 votes.

According to a Times Colonist report, he was followed by UVic student Nathan Daisley who got 286 votes, while graphic technician Adam Flint got 177.
Kowalewich’s main priority will be to lobby for better roads and transportation services for View Royal.
As a father of two young kids, he will also be focusing on increasing family events in order to enhance the sense of community in the city.
