Transport Canada makes changes to what is and isn’t allowed on planes

Share

Transport Canada is amending its Prohibited Items List for passengers of both domestic and international flights.

As of November 27th, certain powders and granular materials will be prohibited if the volume is 350mL or the size of a pop can. Materials now prohibited include bath salts, sea salt, baby powder, foot powder, cooking powder, and sand.

Items such as baby formula, protein powder, tea, and coffee will still be permitted in any quantity.

Transport Canada will also amend the list, so that small tiny knife blades (6cm or less) are now permitted on international or domestic flights, making it consistent with international practice. To continue and respect the agreement in place with the United States, however, knife blades of any length are still prohibited on flights to our southern neighbours.
