More windy weather in the forecast for Greater Victoria today

Share

Unless you spent yesterday under a rock – and also kept all your belongings under rocks to keep them from blowing away – you’ll have experienced the intense wind and rain that suspended ferry service and toppled trees on Monday.

Although that weather system has moved on, another one is forecast to take its place today.

This morning, Victorians can expect winds up to 30 km/h, picking up to 40 to 60 km/h this afternoon and evening.

Rain Through The Week

By Wednesday, the gusts are expected to peter out, but the rain they brought will continue through the week.

Travellers looking to board ferries today may experience disruption. Though main routes such as Tsawwassen – Swartz Bay have not yet been affected, delays and cancellations have been reported between Cortes and Quadra Island as well as Horseshoe Bay and Bowen Island.
