Luxury V2V Empress vessel announces more delays, expects to re-launch in the new year

Share

The launch of the new Vancouver-to-Victoria luxury ferry has been delayed yet again.

The V2V Empress made its inaugural voyage in May 2017, but after four months of service, engine damage forced it to stop operations.

Authorities expected the vessel to be re-launched on December 27th, 2017, after several fixes and upgrades – however, the launch date has been pushed back further.

Ensuring maximum safety for passengers

The delay was made in order for the vessel to undergo sea trials to make sure it is up to all safety standards and will guarantee a comfortable journey for its passengers.

If you have purchased a V2V Empress ticket for travel on or after its original re-launch date, the company will contact you and give you the option to be booked on alternative transportation with Wilson’s Transportation on board the BC Ferries Connector.

All impacted passengers can also use their $50 ticket any time between the vessel’s launch and June 22nd, 2018.

For further details, please contact their reservation team at 1-855-554-4679 or 250-590-9154.

An estimated date of the V2V’s return to service has not been announced yet.
