UPDATED | Local business owner leads desperate search for stolen work truck

Share

UPDATE: The truck has been found with no visible damage and the majority of the tools intact.

EARLIER:

On Thursday, January 4th, a white truck was stolen from Broad St between 6:30 PM and 11 PM.

The 2003 GMC Sierra belongs to Gavin Chamberlain, owner and operator of Heritage Masonry Ltd. The truck itself has an 8 ft box and Heritage Masonry logos on both back doors and tailgate.

The truck contains a locked job box with a plethora of expensive specialized tools, which are needed for the company to function.

My truck was stolen from downtown last night full of tools, please keep an eye out for it.

Possible sightings reported

Chamberlain and his foreman, Ewan Mill have reported the incident to the Victoria Police Department, and have also been sharing their story all over social media, with some success.

A woman on a Facebook group, ‘Stolen or Lost Stuff Langford, Colwood, Sooke, Metchosin and Victoria BC‘, responded to their post, stating that the truck was spotted at a Shoppers Drug Mart in Sooke at about 5:30 PM on Friday, January 5th.

Another comment indicated that the truck might have been sighted late last night in Sidney, near McDonald Park.

Each of these sightings have been reported to the respective police departments, but Chamberlain is not sure how much the authorities will be able to help.

If you have any information about the truck or its whereabouts, please contact Gavin Chamberlain at gavin@heritagemasons.ca or give him a call at 250-812-4499.
