Saanich drivers were briefly forced to share the road with an unusual kind of pedestrian on Wednesday.
According to ScanBC, a sea otter was seen wandering down the 4000 block of Saanich Rd. It is believed the animal was actually a river otter who are known to roam in search of food.

Luckily, the Saanich Pound intervened and managed to get the critter safely back into Swan Lake.
Though no one managed to get any photo or video footage, the incident did prompt a minor Twitter storm.
