Switerland’s Fanny Smith captured the bronze. There were two big upsets: Sandra Naeslund, the World Cup leader, came in fourth and Canada’s Marielle Thompson, who won gold in Sochi, was eliminated in the rounds.

Canada has now tied their best ever medal count record,  set in the 2010 Olympics. They are sitting at 26 medals total. This is also Serwa’s second time in the podium, winning the silver medal in the 2010 Vancouver Games.
