A section of Highway 1 will have a lower speed limit starting on Monday

Share

The British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has issued a release advising drivers to watch for temporary lane markings and a lower speed limit on Highway 1, as part of the ongoing work for the McKenzie interchange project.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 12, traffic will be shifted into temporary lanes, and the construction zone speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/h while crews install the new CRD water main.

This traffic pattern change will be in place 24/7 for approximately one week to help ensure the safety of drivers, as well as workers.

The Galloping Goose Trail remains open for pedestrians and cyclists, but please watch for signs and workers.
