On Saturday, February 3rd, a man was arrested in Victoria after being observed using fake American money.
The man in question is from Vancouver, and was seen using fake $100 USD bills and getting Canadian dollars for change in Victoria.
Upon being searched by Victoria Police officers, it has been confirmed that the man was carrying over $1000 in counterfeit American bills and had used his fake money at five other businesses in town.
The cash he was using say “World Universal Bank Limited” instead of “The United States of America.”
Authorities followed up with the affected businesses and are now recommending five counterfeit currency charges against the man.
