Oak Bay police are asking the public for any information which may help them identify a suspect after receiving a report of an indecent act.
According to Oak Bay police, the incident took place on Saturday near the stairs at the
north end of the Esplanade.
The teenage female was sitting on rocks near the stairs when a man walking along the beach stopped, stared at her and exposed his genitals.
Police said she left the scene and returned home and there was no communication between the two.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, in his 30s, tall, slender build, with shaggy brown hair pulled back into a ponytail.
He was wearing a woolly, blue V-neck sweater and jeans.
“The matter is still under investigation. We have received no other similar reports,” police said in a statement.
