Help shape the future of the Cordova Bay area over the next 20 to 30 years

Share

You could change the area of Cordova Bay as we know it…

Well, not exactly, but through an online survey (available by clicking here from April 28 – May 27) and at an upcoming open house, you’ll have the opportunity to influence planning and land use decisions over the next 20-30 years.

First of Twelve Local Area Plan Updates

As directed by Council in September 2017, Saanich has initiated the update of all 12 local area plans.

Each plan update will include various public input opportunities and take approximately 18 months to complete.

The first two local area plans to be updated are the Cordova Bay and Cadboro Bay Local Area Plans.

The updated local area plans will help provide direction for growth and change in neighbourhoods and implement the directions of the Official Community Plan.

Drop-In Opportunities for Community

The public is invited to attend informal, drop-in community visioning open houses for the Cordova Bay Local Area Plan update.

Both open houses will be identical. Attendees will learn about the existing plan and can provide input on a vision for Cordova Bay, along with issues, opportunities and priorities to address in the updated plan.

Open House #1

When: Saturday, April 28, 2018 – 2:00 to 5:00 p.m

Where: Cordova Bay Elementary Gymnasium, 5238 Cordova Bay Road

Open House #2

When: Wednesday, May 2, 2018 – 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Where: Cordova Bay United Church Fellowship Hall, 813 Claremont Avenue

Future opportunities for public input will include a three day Cordova Bay Village Design Charrette from May 24 to 26, where community members can contribute to planning the future of this community hub. More information on the event schedule and public participation opportunities will be available in the coming weeks.

More details are available at saanich.ca/cordova. The current local area plans for each of Saanich’s 12 Local Areas are available on saanich.ca.
