Here’s why standup paddleboarding is our new favourite summer activity (CONTEST)

Share

Starting in May, you’re invited to join us as we immerse ourselves in a summer activity like no other.

There’s a new company in town that actually teaches people how to standup paddleboarding in a safe and hazard-free way, and we can’t wait to try it out!

This up-and-coming water sport gives you a fantastic workout and improves balance, while also letting you take advantage of our city’s gorgeous waterscapes and spend some quality time with your family.

Keep reading to find out how you can win a two hour all-inclusive paddle boarding adventure for two!

For the kids, by the kids

In 2017, Marc Helman and his family moved to Victoria after falling in love with the city and, particularly, finding the perfect school for his kids.

Along with the family, Helman brought with him over 25 years of business experience from China and Korea, and a unique love for standup paddleboarding.

This all-encompassing water sport gave him a way to bridge the generation gap between him and his three sons, and is now a favourite weekend pastime for the Helman boys.

Now Marc wants to share his passion with Victoria, and teach Vancouver Island’s kids how to standup paddleboard! More than anything else, PacificSUP embodies his love of the sport, and a strong desire to connect with the community in Victoria.

An experience like no other

If you’re a grown up and want to learn too, you can!

This new company is still evolving, and plans to offer classes to a more diverse age range in the future. But for now, just ask if you can join your kids on the water, and you won’t be turned away.

Starting out in Elk Lake, PacificSUP will be focusing on teaching children how to perfect their S-strokes and backstrokes, before just renting out their custom paddleboards.

We’ll see you out in the water this summer!
