The annual Sarah Beckett Memorial Cruise will take place on April 22

This year’s annual cruise to honour the memory of RCMP Cst. Sarah Beckett who perished in the line of duty two years ago is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 22nd.

The 32-year-old mother of two young boys had been a Westshore RCMP officer for 11 years before she was killed by an impaired driver in a pickup truck on April 5th, 2016.

The Sarah Beckett Memorial Cruise has taken place every year since her death. This year’s cruise is also planned to include lunch at the Renfrew Hotel and a hike down to Botanical beach – or Mystic beach, weather permitting.

Drivers will be meeting at Fountain Tire Langford at 8 AM, leave the venue at 9:30 AM, and plan to be back by dinner time.

The organizers have also made Sarah Beckett Memorial Cruise decals available for purchase, with all proceeds going to D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education).
