Victoria nurse loses license after sexually assaulting 73-year-old patient

As of March 27th, 2018, Victoria nurse Gary Dromarsky no longer has his registration to practice.

According to the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC), this is due to a series of allegations and investigations that led an Inquiry Committee to believe that he is guilty of professional and sexual misconduct.

Dromarsky admitted to inappropriately touching a 73-year-old woman while giving her a foot massage in September 2017. This incident was first reported to the CRNBC both by the victim’s brother, and by Dromarsky’s manager.

Following this event, several restrictions were placed upon his license, barring him from practising as a registered nurse. However, in December 2017, it became clear that the ban did not stop him from providing private foot care services to two other patients.

In a final decision issued by the organization’s Inquiry Committee, Gary Dromarsky’s registration has officially been cancelled, and he cannot reapply for his license until at least 2023.

A release posted by the CRNBC warns the public that “Mr. Dromarsky is not legally permitted to practise as a registered nurse in British Columbia, and that anyone considering hiring Mr. Dromarsky for private foot care services should exercise great caution.”

Victoria Police has yet to comment on whether or not there is a criminal investigation being conducted against him at this time.
