Tea for Tutu – Peter Pan

What: Ballet Victoria’s favourite seniors program, Tea for Tutu offers quality innovative daytime performances in a friendly community atmosphere with tea provided by their sponsors.

Role of Nutrition in Fall Prevention

What: 1 out of 3 seniors in the community have malnutrition, which can cause falls, illness and decreased quality of life. Why is it important to eat healthy? You may need less calories, but everyone need more nutrients as we age. Nutrition plays a big role in fall prevention by preventing muscle loss, dizziness and mobility issues. Come find out how you can stay on top of your health.

An Evening for Newcomers to Mix & Mingle

What: New to Victoria? Want to meet other newcomers and get some great insider tips from someone who’s lived in Victoria for more than 2 decades and loves helping newcomers make a smooth transition to this beautiful city? Join the first ever Newcomer Mix & Mingle! There’ll be a great selection of appies and prizes when you play the Connections Game – it’s the perfect opportunity to meet new people in a comfortable and fun way.

Emergency Preparedness Workshop

What: Come for the free workshop to learn about the hazards that can affect Victoria, what to include in your home and vehicle emergency kits, what you can do to protect your home from an earthquake, and how to reunite with your loved ones after a disaster.
Learn what you can do to be prepared for a power outage, winter storm, earthquake, or a tsunami.
Participants will receive a free Prepare Yourself Workbook.

Cost: Free!

Public knitting night

What: All are welcome whether you knit , crochet, quilt, weave etc. It may be tricky to fit a floor loom in the shop though, but they will applaud your efforts!
They also have a selection of yarns graciously donated to the shop by customers, if you are finding fibre arts cost prohibitive.
