A Suitable Girl: Movie Screening + Dinner

What: This month’s dinner focuses on “A Suitable Girl”, a film by Sarita Khurana & Smriti Mundhra.
Join for a meal, movie screening and a conversation about gender, matchmaking and arranged marriages in India.
The event is open to everyone.
The event is organized by the Support Network for Indigenous Women & Women of Colour and the University of Victoria Womens Centre.
Food With A Side of Community is a community dinner that takes place once a month.

Emergency Preparedness Workshop

What: Are you and your family prepared for an emergency?
Come to this FREE workshop to learn about the hazards that can affect Victoria, what to include in your home and vehicle emergency kits, what you can do to protect your home from an earthquake, and how to reunite with your loved ones after a disaster.
Learn what you can do to be prepared for a power outage, winter storm, earthquake, or a tsunami.

The Dining Room (a play)

What: Claremont”s Year-Long Drama class presents this classic play that tells the story of how the dining room used to be such an important room but now seems to be a place we have forgotten about.
Part comedy, part drama this play is appropriate for all ages.
Claremont’s Year-Long Drama class features students in grade 9-12 who perform a play in one semester and focus on the curriculum for the other.

Phillips Comedy Night at the Mint

What: The funniest night of the week is this Wednesday at The Mint! Each week Morgan Cranny and Drew Farrance bring the most hilarious comedians in the city together for a wonderful evening of fun at the best venue for stand up comedy in Victoria.

Free Cooking Demonstrations

What: Each week The Victoria Public Market offers free Cooking Demonstrations brought to you by Mike Haddow from GoodLife Fitness. Cooking demos begin at noon in the Community Kitchen, and are open for everyone to attend!
Today you’ll learn how to make Sous Vide Chicken Breast.
Where: The Victoria Public Market
