Carriage horses fall to the ground in minor accident near Ogden Point

Share

Last night, onlookers near Ogden Point expressed concerned when they saw two horses falling down.

The animals (named Chris and Matt) were just starting their first shift pulling carriages for Victoria Carriage Tours when one of the horses backed up, loosening their harness and causing the carriage to hit a nearby tour bus.

Surprised, Matt took a wrong step and caused both himself and Chris to tumble down to the ground, where they stayed calm and still as handlers quickly cleared them of the harness.

They then stood up and walked back to the staging area.

According to Victoria Carriage tours, the 18 year old Clydesdale cross horses were uninjured during the incident. They’re back home grazing with their herd now, and will be taking a couple of days off before heading back to work.

Matt and Chris are both 18 years old and have been working for Victoria Carriage Tours for 12 years.
