West Shore RCMP are investigating after a Colwood man shot another with a nail gun at a construction site on Wednesday, May 9th.

Officers responded to the site around 3 p.m. and found the victim with a single nail in his abdomen.

It’s believed the two men were exchanging words when tempers flared and one of them pointed a nail gun at the other and fired. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment.

“A matter like this shows how dangerous weapons of opportunity can be. All parties are cooperating with investigators and the investigation is ongoing,” said Constable Matt Baker of the West Shore RCMP in a statement.

Police are recommending charges of assault with a weapon against a 35-year-old man from Langford.

Both men have been fired off the job.
