Foo Ramen Bar is closing down for good

Share

Sad news for all you ramen lovers out there: Foo Ramen Bar has announced it’s shutting its doors for good.

In a Facebook post dated Tuesday, May 15, the restaurant stated, “To all of our loyal customers, thank you for your patronage and support. After much soul searching we have decided to close The Ramen Bar. It was a difficult decision but the right one.”

The restaurant says they are in the process of rebrand, with the chef/general manager of Foo Asian Street Food, Foo Ramen’s sister restaurant, at the helm.

“We are sad about the end of The Ramen Bar but happy and excited about Pang and the next chapter. Keep your eyes peeled for our new menu. All the best, Team Foo”

Foo Ramen Bar had already been closed for some time, with the weekly specials last being updated on April 10 and paper being put over the street-facing windows.

In a Facebook message to Victoria Buzz, Sterling Grice, co-owner of Foo, Foo Ramen, Part and Parcel, and Accio, said the closure was due to a shortage of cooks in the city and trouble with food consistency.

“Obviously the construction in front of our place wasn’t great for business and was the signal that now was the time to pull the plug,” he said.
