The Vancouver Island Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) and the B.C. Coroner’s Service are investigating after the sudden death of a 37-year-old woman in an East Sooke home last week.

Sooke RCMP went to the house on the morning of Friday, May 4th. Upon assessment of the scene and initially unexplained circumstances, the VIIMCU was called in to assist with the help of the coroner’s service.

Both groups are continuing to conduct the investigation in an attempt to determine the circumstances leading up to the woman’s death.

Investigators do not believe there is any risk to the public.

If you have any information, officers ask that you call the VIIMCU Information Line at 250-380-6211, or if you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
