Touch a Truck is happening today at Panorama Recreation

Share

Ever wonder what it’s like to sit in the driver’s seat of a big fire truck? How about a cement truck?

Touch a Truck has got you covered.

Touch a Truck is an annual fundraiser event hosted by Team 4 Hope that benefits paediatric research in B.C.

Kids can get behind the wheel of all kinds of vehicles, from fire trucks, police cars, and ambulances to excavators, dump trucks, and cement trucks.

Team 4 Hope is dedicated to raising awareness of Neuroblastoma, the most common cancer to occur in infancy. About 70 children in Canada are diagnosed with Neuroblastoma each year, and it’s the most common tumour found in children younger than one year of age.

Aside from big trucks, this year’s event also includes a BBQ sponsored by Fairway Market, family activities, face painting, and a bouncy castle.

While you’re at it, you can also register to participate in the first-ever Victoria Buzz 1K Family Fun Run, starting at 12:45 p.m.!

The run is in support of the BC Children’s Hospital, and you’ll have the opportunity to win some cool prizes when you register.

Here’s the event day schedule:

  • 11:00 a.m. – Touch a Truck gates open & activities begin
  • 12:45 p.m. – Runners and walkers gather at the start line
  • 1:00 p.m. – Victoria Buzz 1K Family Fun Run Starts!
  • 1:30 p.m. –  Prizes in Coast Capital Savings Finish Line Lounge
  • 3:00 p.m. – Event concludes

Family tickets are available in advance online now. They cost $16, and cover admission for up to 2 adults and their children. Click here to purchase.

Tickets can also be purchased at the door on the day of the event – $20 for a family ticket, and $10 for individuals.
