It was a busy night if you were a police officer yesterday, as Victoria police reported an incredible 80 calls for service between 5 p.m. Monday evening and 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.
For comparison’s sake, VicPD responded to 82 calls on St. Patrick’s Day this year—on a Saturday.
Last night, between 5:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. we received 80 calls for service. On St Patrick’s day of 2018, which was a Sat, we received 82 calls for service. As the dayshift started, there were 13 calls waiting to be dispatched. Breakdown of calls: https://t.co/8vMh4yukAo #yyj

Of the 80 calls for service, 11 were for fighting, nine were for missing persons, three were for robberies, and one was for an overdose.
VicPD reported that there were another 13 calls waiting to be dispatched as dayshift members started on Tuesday morning.
All that, and there wasn’t even a full moon. Is there something in the water we don’t know about?
Actually, VicPD says it might just be the weather.
It typically gets busier with the sunny weather ….
