Bet you did see that one coming!
With brewing companies like Hoyne, Driftwood, and Spinnakers (that’s just off the top of our heads), it’s no wonder that Victoria was ranked among the crème de la crème of the world’s beer cities.
The list was published by American entertainment site Uproxx, and features 30 cities that boast some of the best lagers, IPAs, and stouts in the world.
Victoria comes in at a hearty number 17, and is described as having a “very British pub culture underpinning a hip and crafty beer scene.” They also call Vancouver Island one of the most magical places on the planet (damn straight!)
We’re one of the only three Canadian cities to make it to the list, sharing the stage with Toronto (#11) and Regina (#23).
Also not surprising is the top 5 list, which features three cities from Germany (Oktoberfest, anyone?!), Prague and Brussels.
