It’s almost time to celebrate Canada’s 151st birthday, and we all know what that means: fireworks!
Several groups and organizations in town will be putting on these spectacular displays of light during the upcoming Canada Day weekend, and here’s your guide to when and where to go to see them.
1. Butchart Gardens
When: Saturday, June 30th, 10:15 p.m.
Where: Butchart Gardens, 800 Benvenuto Ave, Brentwood Bay

2. Sidney Fireworks Extravaganza
When: Saturday, June 30th, 10:15 p.m.
Where: Beacon Park, 9801 Seaport Pl
Sidney’s fireworks show will be a culmination of Canada Day celebration that begins at 5 p.m., and will include food trucks, cultural performances, music, and a formal opening ceremony. Click here for more information.
3. Victoria HarbourCats Fireworks
When: Saturday, June 30th, after the ball game at 6:35 p.m.
Where: Royal Athletic Park, 1014 Caledonia Ave
Take in a Victoria Harbourcats vs. Kelowna Falcons game, followed by an amazing 20-minute fireworks display from the outfield at Royal Athletic Park. Game time is 6:35 pm. Fireworks will follow right after the game.
4. Inner Harbour Fireworks Display
When: Sunday, July 1st, 10:20 p.m.
Where: Inner Harbour
After celebrating Canada Day downtown with an exciting lineup of live music and family-friendly events, make sure to stick around for a spectacular fireworks show along the inner harbour!
5. Sooke Flats Fireworks
When: Sunday, July 1st, 10 p.m.
Where: Sooke River Campgrounds, 2259 Phillips Rd
The Canada Day celebrations in Sooke will begin at 11 a.m. and end with a bang, as a spectacular fireworks display is scheduled for 10 p.m.
So if you love fireworks, this is when and where you can catch all the shows happening in town this weekend.
And remember: if you have dogs, make sure to bring them indoors before the loud celebrations begin.
