This week, the Royal Victoria Yacht Club is hosting the 2018 Melges 24 World Championship Regatta – an international championship sailing race – at the Victoria International Marina, and you’re all invited to come see the spectacle!

The event’s opening day was yesterday (Tuesday, June 5th), but more whirlwind races are on the docket until Saturday, June 9th.

41 talented crews from 5 countries – Canada, USA, Italy, Great Britain, and Australia – are duking it out on the open waters for the title of Melges 24 Worlds Champion, and here are the best spots for you to view the race from:

  1. Lime Bay Park (adjacent to the Marina)
  2. Saxe Point
  3. Macaulay Point
  4. Esquimalt Lagoon
  5. Ogden Point
  6. Clover Point

Victoria Buzz photographer Jay Wallace checked out the scene yesterday and got some incredible shots of the contestants.
