Orca whales accompany low tide into Victoria’s Inner Harbour (PHOTOS/VIDEOS)

Share

For the second time this month, a pod of orcas has ventured as close as they can get to downtown Victoria, splashing their way into the city’s Inner Harbour on Sunday, at about 6:50 PM.

Victoria Buzz shared a video of the incredible occurrence sent to us by Tanya Blake, which was viewed over 110,000 times.

Experts say the whales followed the low tide into the harbour, as it brings in nutrients that draw seals and other prey into the area. They were not, however, observed hunting during their trip last night.
