When Victoria resident Chris Measor first set out to go fishing in East Sooke on Sunday, he had no idea just what a treat he was in for.
In a video captured from his fishing boat, Measor shares his experience encountering a transient pod of Orcas that breached the surface not 10 feet away from his vessel.
“Oh my GOD!!!” he is heard exclaiming and laughing as he beholds the breathtaking sight of these marvelous creatures hanging out by his boat for about two hours.
Measor told Victoria Buzz that it was his first time on the water in this area. “But the captain of the boat sees them there lots”.
