Get ready for takeoff: WestJet’s new carrier Swoop is taking to the skies next week.
On June 20, Swoop will make its inaugural flight from Hamilton, ON, to Abbotsford, B.C., marking the start of its service across Canada.

The carrier currently only takes flights from Abbotsford, Hamilton, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Halifax, but with such low prices, that’s not so bad.
A one-way flight from Abbotsford to Edmonton can cost as low as $39. That’s because Swoop offers a base price that just includes the seat, with snacks, checked baggage, or in-flight entertainment coming at an additional cost .
The carrier is also offering a mobile app that allows customers to book and track flights, purchase in-flight entertainment, check in their baggage, and get their boarding pass all through their phone.
Swoop says it has plans to offer service from more locations in the future, so here’s hoping they include Victoria!
