A two-year-old girl in Saanich has succumbed to her injuries after being hit by a vehicle.
The accident occurred in the Beckwith Park neighbourhood of Saanich on Saturday, July 7th, at about 3 p.m.
According to Saanich Police, the toddler’s father was driving a minivan when the vehicle struck his daughter.
She was transported to the hospital after the family, police and BC Ambulance Service attempted life saving measures. Tragically, she has since died from her injuries.
Saanich Police and BC Coroner’s Service are in the early stages of the investigation, however reports suggest it will be ruled as an accident.
“This is a horrible tragedy and our thoughts and prayers are with the family” said Sgt. Jereme Leslie of Saanich PD.
