Emergency crews were on scene after Christie’s Pub started on fire Saturday morning.
Fire crews were called to the Fort Street pub at around 9:46 a.m.
Contrary to unconfirmed reports that a grease fire was the culprit, Victoria Fire Department reported that the fire was caused by rags in a dryer.
Damages are estimated at $1,000, but there was no other major building damage.
Christie’s is open for business as usual today, according to their Facebook page.
