US Coast Guard Crews and Victoria’s Joint Rescue Coordination Centre are currently searching for a 73-year-old man who went overboard on a cruise ship that was headed for Victoria.
The incident occurred on the ship Seven Seas Mariner, off the coast of Cape Flattery located around the mouth of the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
According to tweets from the US Coast Guard, the cruise ship captain confirmed that there is video evidence of a passenger jumping from the 8th-deck balcony at 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
His wife also told crews that she last saw him at about 4 a.m., and was woken up by a breeze coming from a cracked open balcony door at around 4:30 a.m.
Several US Coast Guard crews are conducting the search along with the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Victoria.
The Seven Seas Mariner was expected to arrive at Ogden Point cruise ship terminal at 1 p.m. today, but will now be here at 11 a.m. instead.

The cruise ship is the Seven Seas Mariner. Man was last seen by his wife around 4 a.m. , who reported that she was woken up around 4:30 a.m. by a breeze coming from the balcony door cracked open.
