Share

A four-vehicle car accident caused a road closure and high police presence on McKenzie Ave Sunday night.

The incident occurred at about 9:45 p.m.

According to Saanich Police Sgt. Jereme Leslie, a 25-year old Saanich man was driving a Honda on McKenzie Ave when it started drifting into eastbound lanes, and then crossed over into westbound traffic at the intersection of Glanford Avenue.

The car struck two vehicles travelling eastbound on McKenzie, and then struck a third vehicle travelling westbound.

Police say the individual driving the Honda had suffered a “medical event” that caused him to lose control of his vehicle.

He was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.
