West Shore RCMP have cordoned off a portion of Thetis Lake to conduct an ongoing investigation.
According to a Tweet, police do not believe there is any danger to the public.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that there was a shooting in the area. A Tweet from a Saanich resident states that there is a “man down with [a] rifle lying beside him.”

RCMP says they will update everyone on the situation once the area has been cleared.
