Saanich Police are reporting an incident that looked like an attempted abduction of a 14-year-old girl in Royal Oak.

Police are looking for information on a light blue van, driven near Elk Lake Drive on Thursday between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m.

It is believed that one First Nations woman and three First Nations males were in the van and was headed towards Langford.

The teen was at the Royal Oak bus exchange when she was approached by one of the men from the van, which was stopped at the #39 bus stop.

She believed he wanted her to get into the van.

Police are looking to speak to this person, as well as the other occupants of the vehicle.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Saanich Police at 250-475-4321 or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous at 1-800-222-8477.

Update: A Victoria Buzz follower who wishes to remain anonymous reached out to us as a witness, stating that he was present at the bus stop when the incident occurred and saw a First Nations man get out of his van and approach the girl.

“I dashed across the street very quickly to see what the problem was to hear him say ‘give me a fucking kiss’ and thought I overheard him say ‘come with me'” stated Almardy. “As soon as he was trying to force himself on her I jumped and I intimidated him telling him if he didn’t leave I was gonna fuck him up.”

Almardy stated that the man left in his van after the encounter, but he was unable to recall the license plate number on the vehicle.
