The James Bay Community Market

What: You will love the fine handcrafted wood items, whimsical home décor and naturally crafted body products. We also have top-quality traditional baked goods, speciality sauces and seasonings and dried soup mixes. Hungry? You will find prepared food you can eat right on site in our picnic area. We also have a vast array of farm-fresh products from farm-fresh meats to seasonal veggies and fruits.

Sprott Shaw College Family Fun Day

In celebration of its 115th anniversary, Sprott Shaw College is hosting an afternoon of fun and games for the entire family at Beacon Hill Park! Come down to the sundial garden and enjoy the sunshine!

Ryder Hesjedal’s Tour de Victoria

What: Ryder Hesjedal’s Tour de Victoria is a supported mass-participation cycling event in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia. Experience the world-class cycling routes and breathtaking scenery in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia.
Riders of all fitness levels can take part in the ride by choosing one of eight distances. All rides start and finish in the iconic inner harbour of Victoria at the BC’s Legislative Buildings.

Goldstream Farmers Market

What: Saturdays during summer, in the heart of Langford’s city centre, at Veterans Memorial Park, is Goldstream Farmers Market.
Here, Langford’s inner creativity is released in the form of locally-grown and locally-processed agricultural products and artisan crafts.
The Market supports and promotes a sustainable and vibrant local agricultural industry and artisan community by providing an outlet for the farmers and artists of Langford and West Shore. Local musicians and entertainers provide atmosphere throughout the day and non-profit groups share their community stories.

Organic Plant Sale

What: Missed the window in June and July to seed your winter vegetable garden? Not to worry, we’re hosting our 7th annual August Organic Plant sale so you can still have fresh greens and herbs throughout the winter!
Gardeners can expect to find a wide selection of plants for fall and winter growing and harvest including kale, broccoli, cabbages, collards, arugula, cold hardy lettuces, herbs like cilantro and parsley, and many others. Local, organic farmers this year will be announced in the spring of 2018.

Free Cooking Demonstrations

What: Each week The Victoria Public Market offers a free Cooking Demonstrations brought to you by Mike Haddow from GoodLife Fitness. Cooking demos begin at noon in the Community Kitchen, and are open for everyone to attend!

Beach Food Saturdays

What: Great food and live music by the ocean!
We want to encourage people to get out and active in the fresh air and enjoy our beautiful seaside community. Pull up a log and have dinner at the beach with live local music, followed by a stroll along the beach or a splash in the ocean. It’s an easy-going event in the most beautiful rustic setting
Find the fun by the welcome sign on Ocean Boulevard near Lagoon Road every Friday and Saturday. Food trucks are there between noon and 7pm, music starts at 5pm!

Water Gun Wars!

What: Victoria’s largest water gun battle is once again coming to the Fort! Join us with your own water guns for this annual event. Come and try to storm the Fort, test your aim with target practice and check out some cool displays from our community collaborators. Face painting and music will be on offer throughout the day

Government Street Pilot Closure

What: Government Street will be closed to vehicular traffic between Fort Street and Yates Street every Sunday from 12 noon to 5 pm, until the end of September.  These trial pedestrian mall experiences are a partnership between the City of Victoria and several of the businesses on the street.

Odd Pairings Vol.1 – A Cocktail Competition

What: Odd Pairings is a cocktail competition, presented by Odd Society Spirits, that celebrates the challenge of creating a perfect pairing between a cocktail and a food item on a menu.
Judges will score the contestants using the standard contest score sheet outlined by the Canadian Professional Bartenders Association, and will score additional points based on the execution and flavour profile of their pairings.
